Indian Family of Cerebral Palsy (IFCP)is a voluntary charitable governmental organization dedicated for the welfare of children and adults with cerebral palsy since its inception in 1993. It is run by all the "Family" members with equal participation and with guidance of eminent professionals such as doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, special educationists, social workers and philanthropists, etc., to cater to the needs of the childrand adults with cerebral palsy irrespective of caste, creed, race, religion and region. The "FAMILY" wishes to establish ideal centers for cerebral palsy in each district of the country with the help of professionals, the parents of the children with cerebral palsy and others.

To provide habilitatative,medical,surgical and other THERAPIES to children with cerebral palsy.
To promote advanced RESEARCH in the fields of management and understanding of cerebral palsy.
To bring the parents,the organisations,the people dealing with such children to a COMMON PLATFORM for effective services and coordination.
To REPRESENT THE PROBLEMS of people with cerebral palsy to the government for formulating necessary.

Because, This is the only disorder on Earth That has So many disabilities and complaints In one individual Such as physical and mental Hearing, speech and visual disabilities, Drooling, difficult swallowing, fits And many other complaints. What is CP and What are its Causes

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a physical disability in children which orginates due to static defects in the brain. In other words it is a motor disorder due to non-progressive damage to developing brain. It occurs mostly due to premature delivery, asphyxia neonatorum (transient blue baby) severe jaundice (kericterus, yellow baby), head injury (say injury due to forceps delivery), etc. The above written risk factors cause biochemical and mechanical trauma (damage) to the brain giving rise hypoxemic insult.

• Generally, as a misnomer, such children are called as spastics. In fact, many of them have other deficits also like dystonia, athetosis, etc. Note that calling a person blind, deaf or handicapped causes psychological trauma to him.

• Therefore, it is not advisable to call a person spastics or cerebral palsied child. Always refer to them by calling child having cerebral palsy or child with spasticity. This disorder should not be considered synonymous to mental retardation, autism, polio, muscular dystophy, etc. These diseases are entirely different from CP. Cerebral palsy does not occur due to progressive etiological factors like genetic, neoplastic or infective. However, some of the diseases due to these factors after cure may leave behind residual motor deficits in children below 12 years of age. Such cases are also called as having cerebral palsy.
